TILLANDSIA ‘Haysoos Maria’ Tristram P* ?

Plant/s originally collected by Lydia Koehres of Germany, It is from Jesus Maria in Nayarit, Mexico but no taxonomist seems willing to link it to a species especially with the newer names being used by Espejo et al. All we can say it is in the T. fasciculata group in the broad sense. It is being grown widely in Australia and this form needs a name. If you are wondering about the ‘Haysoos’-- this is how the Mexicans pronounce Jesus. The plant is about 30cms. wide with very thick, heavily trichomed leaves, the inflorescence branched, 40cms. long and red, usually decurved. Reg Doc 3/2012 Fasciculata Group
Country of origin: NSW, Australia
