Name change to olens 'Marie' proposed by Read in his cited article to eliminate confusion with Richter's 'Vulkan' although the use of the name 'Vulcan' perversely persists into 1998 - Smaller and more compact than the olens '696' cultivar - (See 'Marie' & '696') - Each new collection of olens appears to vary within limits and the use of the cultivar name 'Marie' is proposed for general usage until the various cultivars of olens are named and described.
