Mature, upright rosette to 65cm. diameter. x 50cm. high in bloom. Soft, pliant, arching light green leaves (each 6cm. wide), cross-banded / mottled dark green, tapering to a point. Dark green longitudinal stripes of variable widths, not always consistent from plant to plant and even from leaf to leaf. Bright light can add purple highlights to the foliage. Erect, red-stemmed spike of flared, scarlet-bracted paddles (up to 10 branches per inflorescence), turning greenish yellow at the tips, plus yellow flowers.
