TILLANDSIA ‘Fusa Rose’ | Gruber, Franz / PeterTristram* | ? | |
Caulescent grower 15-20cm. long with semi-recurving, scurfy, light green, pointed leaves. Compact, eliptical shaped inflorescence of frosted pink bracts with carmine red-petalled flowers. Originated in Fusagasuga, Colombia at Franz Gruber's Nursery, imported into Australia by Peter Tristram and grown on at Repton N.S,W in a batch of mixed T. roseiflora hybrids. The two individuals never flowered and grew caulescently to around 20cm, until one plant was acquired by Bruce Dunstan that bloomed within 6 months under Queensland growing conditions. Two subsequent bloomings have allowed other growers around the world to suggest the pollen parent is likely T. edithae. Reg. Doc. 2/2024 by Bruce Dunstan and Peter Tristram.
