TILLANDSIA ‘Wow Gorgeous’ Gruber, Franz / Dr. Dale Dixon * circa 2000

Mature, semi-caulescent, grey-green, spidery rosette to 30cm. diameter. Erect / arching spike up to 50cm. high with only slightly-divergent branching from the rhachis with trichome-sprinkled, loose-clasping, dark magenta bracts with long flexuous tips and sprays of white-eyed, fragrant flowers edged deep purple.The floral bracts of each spike diverge from the rachilla just prior to anthesis. The remaining bracts of each spike remain tight along the rachilla and progressively diverge as the spike matures. Imported unnamed from the breeder in 2014 by Aussie grower Peter Tristram, together with the later-named T. 'Deep Purple' . Reg. Doc. 10/2020 by Dr. Dale Dixon
