TILLANDSIA ‘Holm's Pinatubo’ Holm B. / T. Richter* 2012

Mature plant 14cm. diameter x 11cm. high. Stemless rosette with bulbous base. Leaves grey-green, soft, recurved, slightly undulated shape. They are short (7 cm), wide only at the base and then strongly channeled and thin. The surface is velvety covered with prodruding scales on the underside, the upper surface is also densely covered, but the trichomes are adpressed. The inflorescence does not exceed the foliage but it’s a short peduncle with a polystichous, pale-salmon bud which bears purple tubular flowers. Comparied to T. 'Holm's Pacaya' (pruinosa x scaposa) this hybrid is greener, more scaled and the leaves are much less channeled. Reg. Doc. 1/2018 by Tanja Richter.
