TILLANDSIA ‘Scarlet Rose’ Paterson G 2002

Small to medium-sized T. ionantha with broad-based, heavily-textured leaves which taper to a stiff point. Leaves are heavily covered with trichomes. Like the seed parent the plant grows on a stem but it is somewhat shorter than T ionantha var. van-hyningii but longer thanT. ionantha var. ionantha. The rosette maintains a rose coloured hue in good light which becomes more scarlet at blooming, which are mauve, tubular flowers tipped white. Ionantha Group. Reg. Doc. 3/2017.
