Mature open huge rosette to 1 metre diameter x 20 cm high. The curving scurfed grey- green leaves are 47 cm long x 5 cm wide, tapering to a point. The erect red inflorescence is 45 cm long with multiple 16 cm branch spikes, scurfed and pink-bracted at the base fading to green, from which emerge purple flowers.
