Mature rosette to 32cm. diameter x 20cm. high. Arching, grey-green leaves tapered to a point with heavily-scurfed reverse. Semi-recessed, scarlet red-bracted, branched inflorescence with violet flowers. Import by Tillandsia International nursery, California in circa 2009, a shipment of wild-collected T. velutina from Zion Plants, Guatemala. Among the plant batch were several different individuals which upon blooming were thought to be a natural hybrid, possibly T. velutina x compressa. Similarities also to T. 'Coquette' & 'Hal's Nidus'.
