cv. of unknown parentage - (Appearance indicates high probability of johannis background) - Large to 3.5' across - stiff straight leaves w/deeply indented blunt tips - yellow-orange w/bright red tips - color extends solidly to over 1/2 leaf on older growth - tolerates full sun - leaf width to 5" - Plant imported to Hawaii by David Shiigi in the 1970's from a shop in San Diego called "Natures Way". The plant was supposedly acquired by the shop as species #15 from Kent CA. An offset was then sold to the Philippines by Bob Okazaki where it was called 'Many Moods' for some years. To save confusion with 'Many Moods' (Carrone)its name was registered as 'Manila Sunset' in 1998. | |||
