Mature, funnel-shaped rosette 30cm. tall x 15cm. diameter at the apex. Black-spined, broad, smoky purple leaves (each 10cm. wide) spotted cream and some random silver cross-banding. Arching, dense inflorescence of scurfed red scape bracts, light pink ovaries, frosted red sepals and recurving metallic violet flowers."Amaroo" means "a beautiful place" in an aboriginal dialect.
