Mature, upright rosette to 50 cm diameter x 60cm high. Stiff spreading spiny green leaves, variably variegated cream / white. Inflorescence erect, to 80 cm tall, branched at the base with yellow petals. Cultivated in Orlando, Florida since 1935 by Mulford Foster. Published by Foster as Aechmea caudata var variegata in 1953 from a cultivated plant. Name not accepted in the World List of Selected Plant Families. Although never found in the wild, it was once known as Aechmea forgetii, hence the cultivar name. Reg. Doc. 1/2017 by D Butcher. Country of origin: Florida USA | |||
