Mature upright rosette to 11 cm. diameter x 15 cm. high. Stiff, grey-green, lightly-scurfed leaves with more pronounced white at the rosette base. At blooming, the plant centre turns light orange with long, tubular violet flowers. The leaves are thicker, shorter and more numerous than var.maxima and arranged in a denser rosette. Ionantha Group.
