Mature, open large rosette to 1 metre diameter in a crateriform shape. Dusky maroon / pinkish tan leaves with dense silver scurfing on both sides, moreso on the reverse. The bowl-shaped centre has an irridescent, metallic appearance at anthesis, particularly when wet. Lavender flowers are shaped like-3-cornered hats. Named after the heavy metal band Metallica.
