In 1997 Derek Butcher was visiting the collection of Eric Beltrame in Ingham, north Queensland and saw a batch of unidentified mature seedlings which he decided to name after the owner. The plants flower at about 15 cms. diameter x 15cms high. Scurfed olive green leaves faintly-silver-banded. Erect spike of brick red scape bracts and purple petals. Reg. Doc. 3/2015 by D Butcher.
