|TILLANDSIA ‘Guatemalan Peach’||Lawn G*||n/a|
In 2013 it came to my attention that recently some Florida nurseries are selling a T. capitata 'Peach' , a clone from Guatemala which resembles more a smaller form of T. 'Rio Hondo'. The problem was that there was already a plant that had been sold as T. capitata 'Peach' (originating in Mexico), since the 1980’s but not registered. This has now been registered as T. ‘Capitata Peach’ .This Guatemalan form has a short scape and velvety-soft, pliant leaves which recurve more than the Mexican type. It is variable according to culture and climate also. Grown in Florida in full sun but fed, it can reach at least 44cms. diameter x 34cms. high (unflowered). Capitata Group. Notes by Geoff Lawn. Reg.
