Tropiflora said, "Burgundy leaves evenly dappled w/large green spots and tipped in red - bright colored hardy landscape plant" - Bromeliad Treasury 1981 said, "Small to medium symmetrical rosette of reddish-maroon leaves covered w/large sized green polka-dots in an overlapping pattern - tips crimson and flowers lavender blue".
