cv. of horrida v. tigrina X euphemiae v. purpurea - (See 'Puerto Rico') - Rich plum-wine maroon heavily knuckled open rosette with vivid silvery scurfing and banding - from 10" to 20" tall - large nodding inflorescencew/many dull rose-pink bracts and steel blue flowers - several slightly different cultivars exist but all suffer when fertilized and grown in low light conditions - named to honor early New Zealand grower.
